German citizens successfully pushed their government to create an energy away from fossil fuels and nuclear called ‘Energiewende’ (energy transition) which focuses on wind and rooftop solar, made possible by paying citizens fairly for the power they feed into the grid.

Our speaker, UC Denver professor Christoph Stefes, takes students to Berlin to learn about the Energiewende. He also works with Ecologic Institute which has pioneered sustainability solutions for 20 years.
