Dr. Baker and Rev. Wendy are creating a time to be together that centers music, silence, poetry, and ritual on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm in the Chapel.

Battery energy storage is the key for making the renewable energy transition a reality. Consequently, this industry is growing extremely fast, despite facing hurdles over safety and restricted supply chains. Allison Weis, PhD, shares her insights on where batteries are headed based on her expertise as Global Head of Storage at Wood Mackenzie, a leading global research consultancy for renewables, energy and natural resources. Please stay for a reception afterwards.

As we enter the final stages of the Power of Our Name process, let’s gather in community to discuss next steps for our name change.

Over 8 sessions, we will have a spiritual exploration of UU Values and Covenants (with love at the center!). This is a great course to learn more about our UU theology in a nurturing space in which we listen deeply to each other’s reflections and commit to a spiritual practice.

Whether you’re beginning your writing journey or have written for years, the Creative Writers Circle is for you! Everyone is welcome to join our friendly, supportive group of folks eager to learn from, and laugh with, each other in a safe, nonjudgmental space. Not quite ready to share your work? Join Rev. Jen and Dr. Baker for an exploration of Black spirituals and music of the Black diaspora — through theology, singing, and history. We will journey through the history of slave songs, explore performance practice and dialect, and sing our way through this rich history.

Join fellow JUCers for an afternoon of ecstatic drumming, and possibly dancing. No drumming experience required, no age or physical limits, beyond the ability to stay up til 8 pm. Bring a hand drum if you have one, but we also have extra drums and other instruments to share. Dancers are always welcome!
