2025 Spring Congregational Meeting and Vote

The Board of Trustees will give a presentation on the items up for vote. Members will vote by electronic or mail-in ballots. The voting period is Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 2 pm through Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 11:59 pm.

The meeting will be held in-person and online Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 12:30 pm.

Voting includes the following:

  • The Power of Our Name Initiative: Do you support changing the name of the church to better reflect who we are?
  • Elect Board Trustees (nominees for three-year terms): Debby Bower, Laura Andes, Melissa Colegrove, (nominee for one-year term ending June 30, 2026 to replace a resignation): Paige LeBlanc. Link to bios
  • Elect Leadership Nominating Committee members (nominees for three-year terms): Jessica Moore, Paula Menten. Link to bios
  • Elect Endowment and Memorial Gift Trust Directors (nominee for three-year term): Meridee Cecil. Link to bios
  • Approve 2025-26 annual operating budget.

You may vote in one of the following ways:

Only members who joined no later than April 29, 2025 may vote. Voting eligibility will be verified by the JUC office, so your name must appear on the ballot to be counted. We must receive 96 ballots in order to achieve a quorum for the vote. Your vote must be received by 11:59 pm on Wednesday, May 28 to be counted.

2024 Fall Congregational Meeting and Survey

The meeting will be held in-person and online October 13, 2024 at 12:30 pm.

The Board of Trustees will give a presentation on our current pledge status and how to help close our budget gap, as well as begin the community dialogue on The Power of Our Name where we will discuss choosing a new name (learn about the process). Members are encouraged to submit their opinion on whether or not we should choose a new name for our congregation through an online survey. The survey period is Sunday, October 13 – Wednesday, October 23, 2024.

Survey includes the following:

On a scale of 1-5, how do you feel about choosing a new name for our church?

What makes you support or oppose choosing a new name for our congregation?

What conversations would you be most interested in participating in?

  • Hearing BIPOC voices and the impact Jefferson has on communities of color
  • Why is the name of our church important?
  • Who was Jefferson and how does he support or oppose our values as UUs?
  • What does it mean to be an anti-racist organization?
  • How do we honor different perspectives in hard conversations?
  • Celebrating what JUC means to you
  • Other

You may complete your survey in one of the following ways:

  • Submit electronically using this link
  • Print and complete this Survey and mail it in to 14350 W. 32nd Avenue
    Golden, Colorado 80401 (or drop off).
  • Visit the BOT table in the commons on Sunday, October 20th to fill one out in person
