Brian Fawns

Brian has been part of the Common Flame community since 2016, following his transition from the Boulder Valley Unitarian Universalist Church. His commitment to maintaining a connection with a liberal community that embodies their shared values has been instrumental in supporting both his and his family's growth. As an active participant at Common Flame, Brian and his family have engaged in various groups and activities, including Nature’s Keepers, Our Whole Lives (OWL), and community retreats. He has served as an adult OWL instructor, contributed to the Common Flame Connectors group by making and delivering occasional meals, and most recently participating in the WOMBATS men’s group. Brian is known for his empathy and thoughtfulness, along with a passion for teaching. Professionally, he is a nurse with extensive experience in emergency medicine and surgical care. Upon completing his graduate degree, Brian transitioned into healthcare IT, where he leads and facilitates projects, implementations, and educational initiatives. In his personal life, Brian enjoys cooking and taking walks with his wife and dogs, often greeting neighbors in the Applewood Village community.
