What is the difference between being “old” and being an “elder?” Some of us grow old and depressed under the burden of the profound changes we experience. Others stay fully alive until they die… these are the elders. Not forgotten or invisible. Fully contributing til their deaths. What we who are old all seek to be.

In September, we explored the history and theology of the Unitarians. Now let’s explore that other important but perhaps lesser-known part of our history, the Universalists! Come learn how our UU theology was shaped by the Universalist message and what it means for us today.

Agrivoltaics – the practice of planting crops in the partial shade of raised racks of solar panels – is a heavily researched endeavor with broad applications. It is raising justified expectations among farmers to add a lucrative income stream producing clean power while simultaneously increasing yields for certain cash crops.

Talking about opportunities and limitations of this dual-land-use concept is Colorado Department of Agriculture energy manager Sam Anderson who shares from his vast project experience in both Colorado, the nation, and abroad.

Everyone is welcome to join our friendly, supportive group of folks eager to learn from, and laugh with, each other in a safe, nonjudgmental space. Not quite ready to share your work? This group uses the medium of tabletop roleplaying games (Dungeons and Dragons) to foster a space where people can build community, exercise creativity, and celebrate their unique voice. No prior roleplaying game experience is necessary and feel free to drop in and out as you see fit. Contact: Zack Schreiner

We are a group of queer people and queer allies here at JUC committed to raising awareness of issues that affect the queer community and fostering communication between queer people and our allies. We will be turning that awareness and education into action, including but not limited to, helping our unhoused find refuge and helping our queer youth find safety and community.

Join fellow JUCers for an afternoon of ecstatic drumming, and possibly dancing. No drumming experience required, no age or physical limits, beyond the ability to stay up til 8 pm. Bring a hand drum if you have one, but we also have extra drums and other instruments to share. Dancers are always welcome!
