Laura Andes was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area within a liberal Catholic faith tradition. In her early adulthood, she drifted away from the Catholic Church but yearned for a community that would reinforce her morals and spiritual values in a more secular and modern context. In 2023, she and her husband discovered JUC, and they were both immediately drawn to the community and the principles the church espoused. Since then, Laura has been an active member of the Mom's group, Going Deeper, and her children have benefited from participation in the choir and the OWL program. Laura hopes that serving on the board will allow her to use her skills and passions to give back to the community and help enhance the church's vibrancy. Laura works in the charitable sector.
