Wisdom Week 2: The Wisdom of the Moment

Throughout our abundant lives, we can find simple and quick ways to connect our learning and growth at church to our lives at home.

At Church:

We cultivated an understanding of how to practice being present through breathing, meditation, and creating peace around us.  These practices are supported by our 2nd UU Principle being kind in all we do and the 6th UU Principle building a fair and peaceful world.

Morning Time:

Consider the words of Lin Yutang

Besides the noble art of getting things done, there is the noble art of leaving things undone. The wisdom of life consists in the elimination of non-essentials.

Drive Time:

Weekly Chalice Lighting:

By Gordon B McKeeman

Deep calls unto deep, joy calls unto joy, light calls unto light.

Let the kindling of this flame rekindle in us the inner light of love, of peace, of hope.

And “as one flame lights another, nor grows the less,”

we pledge ourselves to be bearers of the light, wherever we are.

Meal Time:

Talk about: Have you ever heard a wise voice rise up from inside you? How can you learn to listen to it?
