Threshold Week 1: Threshold of Imagination

Throughout our abundant lives, we can find simple and quick ways to connect our learning and growth at church to our lives at home.

At Church:

We discover that moving through a threshold begins with search for what is true- our 4th UU Principle guided by our imagination.

Morning Time:

Contemplate Imagination

Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were,  but without it we go nowhere. ~Carl Sagan

Weekly at Home Chalice Lighting:

Imagine as we light this chalice

we light a flame of imagination inside our minds

and with our world to step beyond

the threshold  of these times

Into a new and better world.

Meal Time:

Talk about: What do you think a threshold is? What UU Principles can help us deal with thresholds and why? How can a strong imagination help us search for the thresholds of our life?

Bed Time:

Read:  Imagine a world by Rob Gonsalve

Family Time:

Use your imagination and creativity to draw, color, or dance a new and better world.

Listen to: Imagine John Lennon

Blessing of Threshold

Neither here, nor there, and yet everywhere, Dear families, this month we are all being and existing on a threshold between so many things. In your parenting, you are compiling an experience of navigating the threshold of these times:  May we recognize this gift of in-between places and a chance to rest and reset. Going forward step by step and learning, growing and being.
