Possibility Week 2: I can be the change

Throughout our abundant lives, we can find simple and quick ways to connect our learning and growth at church to our lives at home.

January Spotify Playlist

At Church

We read books that illustrate how one small act can change someone’s day, or even their life. The younger children read Because Brian Hugged His Mother (K/1) and the older children read Somebody Loves You, Mr Hatch (2-5).

Morning Time

Watch this video about how the smallest acts of kindness can have a ripple effect. If you have 4 minutes, watch this one.  If you only have 30 seconds, watch this shortened version.

Drive Time

Listen to the song Drop in the Bucket by Rebecca Vincent.

Challenge each person to 5 small acts of kindness. At the end of the day, check in and see how it went.

Meal Time

Have you ever noticed how one small kindness has made someone’s day? How does it make you feel when someone shows you kindness? We call it a “ripple effect” when one small kindness spreads to others also doing acts of kindness.  Can you picture how your kindness ripples out?

Bed Time

Read Ordinary Mary’s Extraordinary Deed by Emily Pearson

Read Be Kind by Pat Zietlow Miller and Jen Hill

Family Time

Watch this Youtube video of Mitch Barrett’s song Drop in the Bucket and discuss how the people he mentions in the song helped the world change for the better.  How can we be drops in the bucket?
