Green Task Force: Rob Billerbeck – The Colorado River Crisis

The Colorado River provides water to over 40 million people but this water system has reached a state of crisis, triggered by exceptional drought driven by climate change, and an impenetrably complicated legal framework making reasonable intervention hard. Unless cooperative solutions are put in place within the next few years we are jeopardizing water availability for cities and farms in the Southwest and might speed towards a Dust Bowl worse than in the 1930s. JUC member Rob Billerbeck is a conservation biologist and serves as Colorado River Coordinator for the National Park Service. Please plan to stay for a reception after the Q&A.
