Melissa started singing and playing guitar in church as a youth, leading her first services at age seventeen. Growing up in New York in a family of amateur but passionate musicians and dancers, bursting into song was a natural, every day occurrence. She has been a music educator since 2007 teaching all ages from infants to seniors. Melissa is a prolific songwriter and recording artist. Twice, she has performed her original pieces at General Assembly. She blogs about her life as a songwriter on her website. Melissa first discovered JUC through SOUPPS when she was a single mother of a toddler, and the church became her beacon of hope. In her unique role as Music Ministry Intern, Melissa is honored to weave her experience into the hopeful message JUC offers our community and beyond. Melissa lives in Golden with her husband and their blended family.
