How can I start a New Activity at JUC?
Contact Sue Parilla, Volunteer Coordinator and Program Council Chair.
How do you schedule an Information Table in the Commons on Sunday?
Tables are available to church sponsored activities by contacting either Rona Bradley or Sue Parilla. Tables for any task force or project within the Social Responsibility Council are arranged by Leslie Light.
How can I submit a Sunday morning announcement?
The Worship Associate for the Sunday service is responsible for making announcements. Live announcements can be no longer than 60 seconds. Text or scripts will need to be timed in advance (read out loud) to make sure they don't go over a minute (a computer word count of 80 -100 words is a good rule of thumb). Also, text given to the Worship Associate to read should not simply be the same material that's already in that morning's Order of Service, and it should definitely be shorter! The Worship Associate may shorten copy as he or she sees fit. Find out who the Worship associate will be in Upcoming Services.
How do I submit a fundraising request?
All fundraisers must be sponsored by a JUC committee and meet the guidelines developed by the Stewardship Council and be approved by the Business Council. Contact the Business Council Chair to begin the process of approval. Expect to complete a fundraiser application and to present your proposal to the Business Council.
How can my group apply for an Endowment Grant?
JUC's endowments often provide grants to special projects and groups within the church. The EMGT has a regular annual cycle for applications and they are typically due in February for the next church year (July-June). Contact the chairperson of the appropriate endowment group for further details.
